Technology Classes
Kindergarten
Students will engage in a variety of activites to control the mouse and enhance their skills in order to manipulate various objects on the computer screen. Also, students will practice single and double clicking to open application and documents.
1st Grade
Skills of using a pointing device such as a mouse will will be reinforced, along with using desktop icons to open applications. Also, students will be introced to file management, such as saving documents. Furthermore, students will be introduced to basic keyboarding skills (i.e. proper poster, locating letter and number keys).
2nd Grade
Second grade will be introduced to basic skills on manipulating text such as highlithing text, copying, and pasting text. Introduction to menu and tool bar functions will also be introduced. Students will also be introduced to the process of creating a project using text and various form of graphics (i.e. Power Point presentation).
3rd Grade
Students will continue to practice and improve their keyboarding skills. Also, third graders will be introduced to copying and pasting more in depth, along with the steps needed to import images into their documents; students will work with chaging the size of images and their position on their document.
4th Grade
Responsible use of technology and digital etiquette will be a focal topic of discussion. Students will discuss and explain different strategies on being safe and effective digital citizens. Furthermore, students will continue to practice keyboarding to gain proficiendy and speed in touch typing.
